Here at Shifa Springs, we use the freshest natural ingredients and source them locally as much as possible. Following is a little bit of information on each of our ingredients. 

Olive Oil: Olive oil is a type of oil that is made from olives, which are the fruit of the olive tree and it is a popular ingredient in cooking and beauty products such as soap and scrubs etc. 

Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is a type of oil that is made from the flesh of coconuts. It is used in cooking and as natural skin moisturizer.

Palm Kernel Oil: Palm kernel oil is a type of oil that us extracted from the seeds of the oil palm tree. it is solid at room temperature. We only purchase palm oil from responsible vendors.

Castor Oil: Castor oil is a type of oil that is made from the seeds of the castor plant, it has a thick, viscous consistency and a pale yellow color. Castor oil has been used for centuries for a variety of ailments and used in the production of soaps.

Avocado Oil: Avocado oil is a type of oil that is made from the flesh of avocados. It is commonly used as a cooking oil and as a natural skin moisturizer.

Jojoba Oil: Jojoba Oil is a type of oil that is made from the seeds of the jojoba plant. It is liquid at room temperature and has a golden color. It is commonly used as a natural skin moisturizer.

Shea Butter: Shea butter is a type of fat that is extracted from the nuts of a shea tree. It is solid at room temperature. It is commonly used in the beauty industry as a moisturizing agent.

Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter is a type of fat that is extracted from the cocoa bean. it is solid at room temperature. It is commonly used in the production of chocolate, as well as in the cosmetic industry as a moisturizing agent in skin care products.

Mango Seed Butter: Mango seed butter is a type of fat that is extracted from the seeds of mangoes, it is  solid at room temperature and has a pale yellow color. it is commonly used in the cosmetic industry as a moisturizing agent in skin products. 

Cocamidopropyl betaine: Cocamidopropyl betaine is derived from coconut oil and is a mild gentle surfectant. A surfactant is a substance that can reduce the surface tension of a liquid, allowing it to spread more easily and form a lather when mixed with water. Some people may experience irritation with this product. If you have sensitive skin that we suggest you do not purchase our products that contain Cocamidopropyl betaine.

Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA):  Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSA) is derived from coconut oil and is considered to be a mild, gentle surfactant. A surfactant is a substance that can reduce the surface tension of a liquid, allowing it to spread more easily and form a lather when mixed with water. Some people may experience irritation with this product. If you have sensitive skin that we suggest you do not purchase our products that contain SLSA

Germall  Plus: Germall plus is a preservative widely used in personal care products to help prevent the growth of bacteria, mold and other microorganisms, especially in products that are exposed to moisture. Some people may experience irritation with this product. If you have sensitive skin that we suggest you do not purchase our products that contain Germall Plus.

Epsom Salt: Epsom salt also known as Magnesium Sulfate is a type of salt that is made up of magnesium, sulfur and oxygen. It is named after the town of Epsom in England where it was first discovered. It is commonly used as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments.

Rock Salt: Rock salt is a type of salt that is made up of the mineral halite. It is called Rock salt because it is formed from large deposits of salt that have crystallized over millions of years and are now solidified into rock-like formations. Rock salt is typically mined from underground deposits and used for a variety of purposes, including exfoliating and moisturizing the skin in scrubs. 

Himalayan Salt: Himalayan salt is a type of rock salt that is mind from the Khewra salt mine in the Himalayan mountains of Pakistan. It is know for its pink color, which is due to the presence of trace minerals such as iron, magnesium, and calcium. It is used for a variety of purposes including exfoliating and moisturizing.

Colloidal Oatmeal: Collodial oatmeal is a type of oatmeal that has been finely grounded and suspended in a liquid, such as water. It is commonly used in personal care products. 

Kaolin Clay: Kaolin clay is a fine grained white clay that is commonly used in cosmetics and personal care products, such as facial masks and powders. It is composed primarily of the mineral kaolinite, which is hydrated aluminium silicate. It is know for its absorbent properties, which makes it useful for removing oil and impurities from the skin. 

Lavender: Lavender buds are the dried flowers of the lavender plant. They have a strong, fresh, floral scent and are commonly used in sachets, potpourri, and other fragrant products. Lavender has been used for centuries for its calming and soothing properties. The scent of lavender is believed to help reduce stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

Chamomile: Chamomile flowers are the dried flowers of the chamomile plant. They have a sweet, apple-like scent and are commonly used in teas, sachets, and other fragrant products. Chamomile has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments. The most well-known benefit of chamomile is its ability to promote relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety. Chamomile can be used in a bath to soothe irritated skin and help reduce redness and inflammation.

Rose Petals: Rose petals are the dried petals of the rose flower. They have a sweet, floral scent and are commonly used in sachets, potpourri, and other fragrant products. Rose petals have been used for centuries in traditional medicine and beauty treatments. The petals and the oil extracted from them are known for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.Rose petals have a soothing and calming effect on the skin, and can be beneficial for treating various skin conditions such as dry skin, eczema, and sensitive skin. They also have astringent properties that can help tighten and tone the skin, leaving it looking refreshed and youthful.Rose petals can be added to a bath to help soothe irritated skin, reduce redness and inflammation, and promote a sense of relaxation and well-being. The petals can also be used to make a soothing and refreshing face mask.

Hibiscus: Hibiscus flowers are the dried flowers of the hibiscus plant. They have a bright, bold color and are commonly used in teas, jams, syrups, and other food and beverages. They are also used in cosmetic and beauty products, such as soaps, lotions, and scrubs, for their skin-beneficial properties. Hibiscus flowers can also be added to a bath to help soothe and moisturize the skin, and leave it feeling soft and smooth. The petals can also be used to make a refreshing and rejuvenating face mask or body scrub.

Pumice: Pumice is a type of volcanic rock that is formed when lava cools and solidifies quickly. Sugar: Sugar is a common ingredient in hand scrubs and exfoliating products. It is a natural exfoliant that gently removes dead skin cells, leaving the skin feeling smooth and refreshed.Sugar is a gentle, yet effective, exfoliant that can be used on all skin types. It is also a humectant, which means it helps to retain moisture in the skin, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated. Sugar also contains glycolic acid, which is a type of alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that can help to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as uneven skin tone.

 Poppy: Poppy seeds have a small size and a hard texture which makes them a gentle, yet effective, exfoliant for the skin. They are often used in scrubs, soaps, and other exfoliating products to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and leave the skin feeling smooth and refreshed.
